Trailing of the Sheep has been named in the Top Ten Fall Festivals in the World, Top 200 Best U.S. Festivals and the Top 100 Festivals in N. America. Crosstoberfest is a premiere event to reach beer enthusiasts and bike lovers throughout our region. The beer festival is on Saturday and will consist of lots of brewer’s tents regional and national marketing to bring as many silly fun fans out to share great suds, listen to tunes and watch the races. Attendees from all fifty states, every Canadian province, and several foreign countries gather each October to celebrate live performances of America’s music. The Sun Valley Jazz & Music Festival was birthed out of a love and appreciation for jazz music by Tom & Barbara Hazzard and is held mid-October each year in Sun Valley, ID.

Celebrating years of vocal expertise, Sun Valley Opera's Winter Series offers something for everyone spanning two months - Opera to Pop and Jazz to Broadway.
Sun Valley Nordic Festival
FEBRUARY 2 - 5
Sun Valley has a well deserved reputation for world-class alpine skiing, but is also known as “Nordic Town USA” for having the best Nordic skiing in the US.
Town Sprints kick off the festivities on Thursday and the Boulder Mountain Tour will be Saturday, February 4th.

Family of Woman Film Festival

The Family of Woman Film Festival was founded in Sun Valley, Idaho, in 2008. The Festival presents five feature documentaries and dramatic films each year from around the world that highlight the status of women in different societies.

Sun Valley, Idaho has been welcoming the film industry since Averell Harriman opened America's first ski resort in 1936. To celebrate the area’s Hollywood heritage and bring it into the 21st century, the inaugural Sun Valley Film Festival was launched in March 2012 and was an immediate success. The Sun Valley Film Festival continues to build on that success with over 60 films including world premieres, networking dinners, unique panels, passionate discussions and memorable parties. The Sun Valley Film Festival brings together over 3,500 festival goers for five unforgettable days where industry insiders and movie lovers alike, gather to celebrate the art of filmmaking in a majestic setting.

Recognized as one of the top wellness events in the US, the Sun Valley Wellness Festival takes place over Memorial Day Weekend.
Ride Sun Valley Bike Festival
JUNE 29 - JULY 2
This perennial event rolls four days of everything bike under the sun into a wheel spinning blur of good times, awesome races, live entertainment, clinics, guided rides and even a head to head drag race which involves bikes towing flaming logs to crown a champion.
Sun Valley Writers' Conference

The Sun Valley Writers' Conference is a festival of ideas and literature with some of the most extraordinary writers and thinkers in the world, the most generous audience one is ever likely to encounter – close to 1,000 people, a good number of whom wield considerable influence in business, politics, media, and entertainment circles, but all of whom love to read – in one of the most breathtakingly beautiful places in the American West. The conference started in 1995 and is now considered by many to be the best literary festival in the U.S.

Sun Valley Center Arts and Crafts Festival

Join the Sun Valley Center for the Arts as they present the 49th Annual Arts and Crafts Festival. This Festival is an outdoor juried fine arts and crafts show located in beautiful Ketchum, ID. The Sun Valley Center for the Arts values and honors the work made by the individual artists. No commercial agents are allowed. This popular community event also includes artists’ demonstrations, live music, food vendors, and a children’s activity area.
Wood River Valley Studio Tour
AUGUST 15 - 20
The Sun Valley, Idaho area is home to an abundantly diverse collective of visual artists. Brilliantly illuminating the creative talent in the Sun Valley region, the ffith annual Wood River Valley Studio Tour opens the doors of professional artists’ studios to the general public Saturday, August 19th and Sunday, the 20th, with a broadened calendar of art-centric events happening August 15th through August 20th, 2016.
Visitors from near and far travel by car, bicycle or on foot on self-guided adventures, exploring artists’ working sanctuaries throughout the Wood River Valley. Extending from Bellevue in the south end of the valley to Ketchum in the north and all parts in between, visitors enjoy the rare experience of being in the environments where art is created while getting acquainted with the makers and gaining a close-up view of the materials and media artists employ.
AUGUST 31 - SEPTEMBER 4
Welcome to yesteryear. Please join us Labor Day weekend as Ketchum celebrates the days before railroads or automobiles reached the town.
Come to Main Street and watch the largest parade in the country without motorized vehicles (on Saturday). Basque dancers, marching bands and western cowboys travel by horse, mule or foot – anything goes as long as there is no motor.
Enjoy a pancake breakfast in Town Square, a bareback riding demonstration, an arts and crafts festival, and an antique fair. Shop at our boutiques and art galleries. Go for a walk or a bike ride in the Idaho fall.
