The Wood River Farmers Markets offer seasonally available and locally grown fruits and vegetables, organic and grass-fed meats, artisan pies, and other baked goods, honey, specialty products including jams and fermented foods, plant starts for your garden, jewelry, crafts, fresh-cut flowers, and much more! Labor Day Weekend: Wagon Days
In 1958, a few hundred spectators attended what would grow to become one of the largest non-motorized parades in the Pacific Northwest - The Wagon Days Big Hitch Parade! Today, over fifteen thousand people flock to Ketchum to watch this historical parade and celebrate the western heritage it represents. The parade features buggies, carriages and wagons, with the grand finale being the Lewis Ore Wagons and the Big Hitch. Learn More »

9/7-9: Ernest Hemingway Seminar
Literature, lectures, discussions, food, and fellowship. Each year, the Ernest Hemingway Seminar focuses on a particular text or theme and literary and historical context. Learn More »

9/14-17: Sawtooth Writing Retreat presented by the Hemingway Center

One of the most popular holiday traditions in the Wood River Valley is the 19th annual Turkey Trot held on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 24.  The 5K Fun Run and Walk, sponsored by The Chamber – Hailey & Wood River Valley, is a great community event and is extremely popular with locals and visitors alike. Learn More»

11/25+26: Artists’ Studio Tour of the Wood River Valley
Twenty artists from all over the Wood River Valley will open their studios on Friday November 25 and Saturday November 26 from 11am to 5pm each day. This tour is free and open to everyone. The pace will be leisurely, with time for visitors to discuss techniques and inspiration with the artists themselves and perhaps choose a special piece with a meaningful story behind it. Learn More»

12/3-4: The Papoose Club Annual Holiday Bazaar
The Papoose Club Annual Holiday Bazaar will be held on the first full weekend of December at the Hemingway Elementary School in Ketchum. The Holiday Bazaar is a juried arts show that features wonderful hand-made gifts from more than 50 artists from across the Intermountain West. Learn More »

12/3: 6th Annual Homegrown Film Festival
Produced by F11 Films, Homegrown Film Festival is a celebration of the cinematic and athletic achievement of people who call this place home. Festivities abound this holiday season with a variety of activities for the whole family around the Sun Valley Village. Ring in the New Year with night skiing and riding on Dollar Mountain! 2/4: Zions Bank Boulder Mountain Tour
The 50th annual Zions Bank Boulder Mountain Tour will take place in Ketchum, Idaho, on its traditional day, the first Saturday in February, falling in 2023 on February 4.The premier cross country race in the Western United States, the Tour is staged on the historic Harriman Trail located in the pristine Sawtooth National Forest Area. Race distances are 34 kilometers, the Full Boulder, and 15 kilometers, the Charley Course Half Boulder. Learn More»

2/25: BCRD Ski Free Day
BCRD welcomes the community to enjoy free Nordic skiing and snowshoeing on all BCRD winter trails. The 32-kilometer multi-use Wood River Trail, which runs from Ketchum to Bellevue, is always free. The Wood River Trail is groomed every other day and is open to skiers, walkers, dogs, and fat-bikes. Learn More»

3/4: The Dollar Holler
Come out and kick-off spring at Dollar Mountain with a fun Rail Jam comp, followed by a high-energy Big Air exhibition from our valley’s best tricksters. 3/8: International Women’s Day
Kick off International Women’s Day at Sun Valley with a celebration of inclusivity and women in the outdoors! Festivities will begin at 10am with “A Lap for the Ladies.” Meet at top of Baldy to join in a fun rally cry and photo op before cruising down College! Not interested in going all the way to the top? 3/15-17: Sun Valley Music Festival Winter Season
The Sun Valley Music Festival presents its fifth Winter Season at the Argyros Performing Arts Center from March 15-17, 2023. The program will feature Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, one of the most popular works in all classical music, in an arrangement for 21 brass and percussion musicians that captures the power and emotion of the original. Music Director Alasdair Neale will conduct the performances, which will also feature a series of short works showcasing the beauty and range of various instruments in the brass and percussion sections. Learn More»

3/29-4/2: Sun Valley Film Festival
Returning for its 12th year, SVFF kicks off another five days of Films, Coffee Talks, Parties and more. Since 2012 the Sun Valley Film Festival has invited fans and filmmakers to America’s first ski resort to celebrate the magic of storytelling. The year-round Sun Valley Film Initiative develops professionals and illuminates the process of filmmaking, propelling emerging voices with grants and education. Every spring the Festival celebrates with a slate of cutting-edge films and TV premieres, industry panels, engaging Coffee Talks with entertainment luminaries, a Screenwriters Lab led by award-winning writers, and a series of parties culminating with the spectacular SVFF Awards Bash. Learn More»

7/1+2: Ballet Sun Valley proudly presents Dutch National Ballet 
These two performances mark Dutch National Ballet’s first tour to the United States in over 40 years! One of the top ballet companies in the world, led by Artistic Director Ted Brandsen, Dutch National Ballet is known for their innovation and excellence. Fourth of July: Hailey Days of the Old West
Hailey, Idaho, offers up perhaps the most quintessential small town 4th of July celebration in the West. In fact, the Los Angeles Times called out Hailey as one of the best places in the US to find "maximum fun for your Fourth of July." The Hailey Days of the Old West celebration, around July 4th, offers up a fun and unique parade with colorful entries, plenty of horses and a Road Apple Roulette, antique market, pancake breakfast, live music and a spectacular fireworks display.

7/20-22: Sun Valley Tour de Force
The 6th Annual Sun Valley Tour de Force on July 20-22, 2023 is a weekend of epic proportions for car lovers of all ages. Eight events take place over the course of three days. The signature event of the weekend is the ‘NO SPEED LIMIT’ high speed runs at Phantom Hill. Located in the heart of the Sawtooth National Recreation Area, 3.2 miles of state highway becomes a no-speed limit zone. For one day only, drivers are allowed to put their machines to the ultimate test. Additional weekend events include scenic drives, SVTdF Car Show at Festival Meadows, hosted sponsor events and our fundraiser for The Hunger Coalition; Cars & Comedy. Learn More »

7/28-30: Sturtevants' Standhope Ultra Challenge
A very difficult and exceptionally beautiful run through the Pioneer Mountains. Entrants will reach a high point of 11,000′ during the course of the race. Entry should NOT be taken lightly. This race is an excellent trainer for any high-altitude 50 or 100 miler. Learn More »

8/17-19: Annual Killebrew-Thompson Memorial Golf Tournament
Enjoy a fun-filled weekend supporting a worthy cause. What began as a golf tournament among friends has expanded beyond the golf course into a four-day affair showcasing the best of Sun Valley.
